AMBASSADOR of the MONTH

Susan Rice, Ph.D., Susan A. Rice and Associates, Inc.

The Greater Grass Valley Chamber Ambassadors are honored to spotlight Susan Rice, Ph.D. for the month of August 2018.  Susan Rice, Ph.D. has been an active member of our community since 1998 when she moved from the San Francisco Bay Area. Susan was formerly a professor in the Department of Anesthesia at Stanford University Medical School, a researcher at the VA Medical Center in Palo Alto, and a senior scientist at an engineering and scientific consulting company. She is certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology and has served on boards and as president of several scientific societies.

Soon after arriving in the Grass Valley area she joined the Greater Grass Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Ambassador’s committee where she has served four times as Chair of the Ambassadors. Additionally, she has served on the GGVCC Board of Directors for 10 years, two times as Chair and two years as Treasurer. She also serves as Secretary and Director for the Nevada City 49er Rotary Club.

Susan provides professional consulting services in Toxicology and Pharmacology primarily to pharmaceutical and medical device companies and, at times, testifies as an expert witness. Locally, she helps individuals identify potential interactions among drugs, supplements, and foods when assistance is needed in addition to primary medical care.

Susan continues to be a valuable asset to our community and is always the first to step up to volunteer. Thank you, Susan, for all you do and all you continue to do for the Ambassadors and our wonderful community!
