The Ambassadors are a group of business leaders committed to helping the Greater Grass Valley Chamber of Commerce fulfill its mission of representing businesses and providing leadership to enhance the quality of our community.  The Ambassadors are Chamber members who volunteer their time to welcome new Chamber members and support Chamber staff at events.  The Ambassador program is the premier member-to-member, business networking program.

Ribbon Cutting Events

The Greater Grass Valley Chamber of Commerce is pleased to spotlight two dynamic Ambassadors for the month of July

The Greater Grass Valley Chamber of Commerce is pleased to spotlight an outstanding member of our Ambassador Committee, Kristen Kulhavy. Kristen makes time for our committee while holding down the fort at Crystal Ridge Care Center as their Admissions and Marketing Director.

Kristen’s been working in Nevada County since 2008. She became an ambassador last year and hosted a mixer at Crystal Ridge Care Center to showcase their beautiful remodel. The Center is dedicated to excellence and is committed to providing the highest quality of care to their residents to meet their individual needs and goals. We are fortunate to have this skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation center available to our community. Kristen is dedicated to making the transition to their Center easy for their residents and families. Kristen also serves on the Fall Prevention Coalition Board; this is her way of sharing with our senior population ways to live safely and longer while maintaining their independence.

Kristen and her high school sweetheart husband of 29 years (together for 36) are the proud parents of a recent college graduate daughter and a son who is currently in junior high school. Kristen spends her free time volunteering in the community and helping others. She enjoys being an ambassador and sees this as a way of keeping abreast and assisting with current events in Grass Valley.

The Greater Grass Valley Chamber of Commerce is pleased to spotlight Nicole Grimes of Gold Country Community Services (GCCS) for the month of July.

Nicole joined as an Ambassador in the spring of 2017 with the goal of reconnecting with the community from which she had been away while attending college. She has found the experience invaluable for creating strong relationships with other active members. Working in a service based non-profit, Nicole has seen the advantage of these relationships. For example, the Senior Firewood and Meals on Wheels Programs have seen an increase in awareness and support.

Gold Country Community Services provides essential programs that meet the basic needs of seniors living in Western Nevada County; it focuses on providing nutritional meals, keeping seniors warm in their homes, providing social interaction and a greater sense of security.  Since the non-profit is run with a small staff and 100+ volunteers, Nicole has taken on many different responsibilities. Now as the Social Services Manager, she establishes and oversees the day-to-day operations and the financial management.

In her spare time Nicole loves to be out in the nature of Nevada County; whether on foot, horseback, or a dirt bike, she is ready to explore and find a new adventure.
