AMBASSADOR of the MONTH

The Greater Grass Valley Chamber of Commerce is pleased to spotlight a dynamic Ambassador for the month of September

The Greater Grass Valley Chamber of Commerce is pleased to spotlight Julie Paniagua from Nevada County Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Julie is the procurement specialist and dispatcher. She will walk you through the process of how to donate your gently used goods, what items can and cannot be accepted, as well as scheduling the pick-up services. Julie has been an ambassador for a short time, but she is a great addition to our ambassador group.

Nevada County Habitat promotes decent, affordable housing for qualified applicants and it supports a commitment to housing as a basic human right. It advocates for just and fair housing policies to eliminate the constraints that contribute to poverty housing. And, in all of its work, it seeks to put shelter on hearts and minds in such powerful ways that poverty housing becomes socially, politically and religiously unacceptable.

Nevada County Habitat has built/provided homes to more than 34 families, housing over 149 individuals, including more than 99 children. There is a severe and growing affordable housing crisis in California and in our county. With more than 48% percent of Nevada County residents paying more than they can afford in housing costs, we know that we must do more.

Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability, and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves.

Julie enjoys the outdoors, camping, and hiking the many local trails in Nevada County. In her spare time she also enjoys reading, photography and crafting. In conclusion, Julie receives much satisfaction from helping others and gives back to the community whenever possible.

If you would like to donate your gently used goods to a great cause and help your local community, please contact her today at 530-274-3761 ext. 2.
