July 4, 2019
The Fourth of July parade will be Thursday, July 4th at 11:00 am in Downtown Grass Valley.
Nevada County will be celebrating USA’s birthday this 4th of July, with the theme of the 2019 Parade & Fireworks Celebration, “Hats Off To Nevada County.”
Continuing a tradition that began 117 years ago, Grass Valley will be hosting this year’s July Fourth parade. It was in 1902 that an agreement was struck between Nevada City and Grass Valley to alternate the parade between the two communities. Since then, Grass Valley has hosted the celebration on odd-numbered years and Nevada City on even-numbered years.
Parade-goers are advised to bring lawn chairs and arrive early to find a good vantage point.
The Nevada County Concert Band performs a curbside pre-parade concert an hour prior to the parade, and continues to provide intermittent music throughout the parade.
NCTV might be broadcasting “Live” the parade locally and internationally on NCTV Channel 11 and NCTV So. County Channel 16 as well as nevadacountytv.org.
