The Nevada County Performing Arts Guild is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public, especially children, in the performing arts. To accomplish that end, we produce full-scale theater productions with all-child casts. Our productions instill in children a deep appreciation for the performing arts.

More importantly, involvement in PAG improves key skills for children’s success in life: public speaking, reading, memorization, and self-confidence.

Each PAG production involves six to eight weeks of acting, singing and dance training, two full weekends of performances, award-winning costumes and opportunities to participate in radio interviews, set building, parades, and many more activities. Our cast and crew members receive all these benefits in a fun, supportive, safe and drug-free environment.

PAG is in its 32nd year serving Nevada County!

We have produced 101 productions, involving over 3,000 children. While PAG has an enrollment fee, as many as 1/3 of the children attend on scholarship. The children perform each production 7 times for the general public and two to five special performances for schools and other organizations. Each production reaches an audience of approximately 2,000 people.

As this is Children’s Theater with young thespians performing, much of our audience are adults that find our productions very professional and entertaining and are grateful to have this type of live family entertainment available in our community.

PAG has received many awards over the years.

In June of 1998, we received the first annual “Excellence in Arts Education Award”. We have received over 60 Elly nominations – and won 30 Elly awards – for excellence in the Arts, sponsored by The Sacramento Regional Theatre Alliance, known as SARTA.
